Pilsner Urquell brings the perfect commute home to London's long suffering commuters

Working in the City can be demanding, so much so that it often feels like there is little or no time to relax.  Meetings, commuting, late nights, working lunches, deadlines – the demands can be relentless.  That is why when you do get some time to your self, it is important to make the most of that time:  to get the details right.  Getting the details right is also the key to the unique craftsmanship and full-bodied flavour of Pilsner Urquell.

Pilsner Urquell’s attention to detail began back in 1842, in the Czech city of Pilsen, when visionary brewmaster, Joseph Groll, created a revolutionary new brewing process that produced the world’s first clear, golden beer.  This brewing process has never been compromised and today Pilsner Urquell not only lends its name to every pilsner in the world but also received the highest score for a pilsner from experts at the Beverage Testing Institute during a recent blind tasting. More importantly, the 4.4%, ABV and the full hoppy taste of Pilsner Urquell is ideal to savour at  times of relaxation.

In order to provide consumers with a chance to experience their own perfect Pilsner Urquell moment, the brand has created ‘The Perfect Commute’ – transforming an occasion which a recent study* showed leaves 74% of London Underground commuters stressed and agitated into a cool and relaxing antidote to the busy working day.

In greater detail this study highlighted that:

• 84% of tube commuters feel irritated by fellow commuters through things like loud
conversations, iPod music and use of mobile phones
• 98% of tube commuters say they have experienced overcrowding
• 91% of tube commuters suffer from the stifling heat in the summer months, with 89%
   wanting better air and circulation
• 63% of tube commuters find that a bad commute puts them in a bad mood which affects
their productivity when they arrive at the office

On 15th, 23rd and 30th July, City commuters can apply via perfectcommute@resonate.uk.com  for complementary tickets to Pilsner Urquell’s Perfect Commute, which aims to transform this hot, crowded and stressful part of the day by offering consumers a unique, complementary riverboat commute, which importantly, gets the details right.

Departing from Canary Wharf, a luxury vessel equipped with a putting green, massage chairs and grooming stations will cruise the homeward journey to Chelsea Harbour and Putney.   On the top deck commuters will also be able to relax in the beer garden, complete with a gourmet barbecue – the perfect place to unwind while enjoying a perfectly chilled Pilsner Urquell.

Pilsner Urquell

Pilsner Urquell is the world’s first, clear golden beer, created in 1842. Pilsner Urquell means ‘pilsner from the original source’. It is the flagship brand of SABMiller’s international brand portfolio and is the company’s premier contender in the premium status segment of the market.

Named after the town in which it was created, the beer came to define a whole category (Pilsners) and set the standard for all lagers.  At the brewery in Pilsen, Pilsner Urquell is still brewed to its original recipe (unchanged for over 165 years) using the parallel brewing process to ensure that the taste of the beer stays true.  By brewing a sample batch of the beer in the traditional way, using original-style equipment, the beer can then be compared to that which is made using modern equipment to make sure the beers match perfectly – no other brewer in the world does this.

Using the finest ingredients: Saaz hops, malt and Pilsen water, Pilsner Urquell is an intensely hoppy beer with a crisp body, and a balance of subtle sweetness with velvety bitterness or more information on Pilsner Urquell, please visit www.pilsnerurquell.com
