My day usually starts with a mint tea and a healthy breakfast (trying to resist the temptation of bacon and eggs!). I’ve got some daily duties to perform in the morning including sending out our daily stock report that details where our consignments of beer are and when they are coming in and so on. It’s all essential work to ensure our customers have what they want, when they want. I have to liaise closely with our logistics suppliers for this and my role is really as a bridge between our sales, supply chain and customer service teams.

I’m also working on a project to improve and integrate new supply chain management processes within our team which is interesting as well as great experience for me. I usually grab a sandwich and eat lunch at my desk. I started out in customer services before moving to the supply chain team so sometimes it’s nice to catch up with them over lunch too.

After lunch I’m usually working on stock control and managing our warehouses. Sometimes I’ll have meetings on stock or other issues. I’m also part of a cross functional project team that’s working to reduce our secondary packaging so I often have extra duties which might include researching the latest innovations in environmentally friendly packaging materials or manufacturing technology. At the end of the day my main task is to beat the traffic and get home on time!
